NSIC Registration

Empowering MSMEs Through National Small Industries Corporation Certification

National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) is a Mini Ratna Government Organization established by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, in 1955. It plays a vital role in promoting and supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country by providing them with opportunities for growth, competitiveness, and participation in government procurement.

The NSIC Registration is designed to help MSMEs access marketing, finance, and technology-related benefits under various government schemes. Through National Small Industries Corporation Registration, enterprises can enhance their business credibility and become eligible for several government incentives and exemptions.

What is an NSIC Certificate?

An NSIC Certificate is an important document issued to MSMEs to facilitate single-point registration for government purchases and participation in credit rating schemes. The NSIC Certificate Registration provides recognition to Micro and Small Enterprises, helping them gain preference in government tenders and procurement processes.

NSIC Certificate Eligibility

  • Applicable for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) engaged in manufacturing or service activities.

  • Traders are not eligible under this scheme.

  • The NSIC Certificate under the Single Point Registration Scheme (SPRS) is valid for 2 years and must be renewed thereafter.

  • Enterprises with Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM), Udyam Registration, or EM Part-II (Optional) are eligible for NSIC Registration.

  • Newly established MSEs that have started commercial production but completed less than one year can obtain a Provisional NSIC Certificate with a monetary limit of up to β‚Ή5 lakhs.

Benefits of NSIC Registration

  1. Free issue of tender sets to registered MSMEs.

  2. Exemption from payment of Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) in government tenders.

  3. Price preference – MSEs quoting within L1 + 15% can match the L1 price and supply up to 25% of the tender quantity.

  4. Consortia facility for bulk tender marketing.

  5. Enhanced market access through government procurement preference.

Government Procurement Preference Policy

  • Central Ministries, Departments, and PSUs are required to procure at least 25% of their total annual purchases from MSEs.

  • Of this, 4% is reserved for SC/ST-owned units and 3% for Women-owned enterprises.

  • 358 items are reserved exclusively for procurement from the MSE sector.
